uMngungundlovu and uMshwathi Empower Youth Through Job Preparedness Programme.

Residents and job seekers in Ward 4 gathered for a successful Job Preparedness Programme aimed at equipping community members with practical skills needed to compete in today’s employment market. The programme, hosted under the leadership of Councillor Cebekhulu, focused on empowering participants with the confidence and knowledge required to secure job opportunities. Community members attended in numbers, showing strong interest in improving their chances of employment and career growth.

The event featured informative presentations on job hunting and application processes, including how to draft effective CVs, cover letters, and professional profiles. A presentation on employment opportunities and work readiness was delivered by Ms Nonjabulo Nkala from the Department of Employment and Labour, who encouraged attendees to remain proactive in seeking opportunities. Representatives also guided participants on preparing for interviews through mock interview sessions, self-presentation techniques, and understanding different professional interview formats.

Further support was provided through a youth-focused presentation by Siyamthanda Kwazi from the National Youth Development Agency, who highlighted programmes designed to assist young people with career development and entrepreneurship opportunities. The session also covered workplace readiness, including ethics, professional conduct, teamwork, and communication skills. Organisers described the programme as a meaningful step toward reducing unemployment and building a more prepared and confident workforce in Ward 4.
