Emanating from local community structures, and guided by the role of Sukuma Sakhe and War Rooms, local farmers ,through the uMshwathi Farmers Association , submitted a request for support to renew and upgrade their dip tanks in order to effectively manage and treat livestock diseases including awareness about foot and mouth diseases which took place last month.

This request was escalated through the appropriate government support systems, and in response, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture has today provided dip tank materials to farmers in Ward 4 at KwaBambanani under the leadership of iNkosi uNtanzi. Similar support was also extended to ward 6 the uMbhava dip tank in KwaSwayimane under the leadership of iNkosi Gcumisa.

The Honourable Mayor, Cllr Mandla Zondi, expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts demonstrated by government departments.
