MUNICIPALITY WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY TO ADDRESS SAFETY CONCERNS

As a caring and listening municipality, uMshwathi Local Municipality continues to work closely with community members to address issues that affect their safety and well-being. The municipality recently responded to concerns raised by one of its stakeholders regarding several trees that had fallen or become dangerous, some of which were struck by lightning and posed a potential risk to both motorists and pedestrians.

The images below capture the tree-felling work that was undertaken in and around the Wartburg area in Ward 7 to remove these hazards and ensure the safety of road users and residents.

he municipality wishes to urge all community members who may be affected by similar challenges to use the proper communication channels to report issues that impact their lives and safety. Through continuous collaboration between the municipality and the community, such matters can be addressed promptly and effectively.

Additional work of a similar nature will be carried out as and when the municipality receives verifiable information about trees or other hazards that pose a risk to the community and the environment.
