uMshwathi Municipality successfully hosted the Matric Excellence Awards yesterday at eFaye Community Hall, an event dedicated to recognising and celebrating the outstanding academic achievements of learners who excelled in the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations.
The ceremony brought together learners, parents, educators, school principals, traditional leadership, councilors, and key stakeholders in the education sector, mainly KZN Departments of Education , uMgungundlovu District reflecting a shared commitment to promoting academic excellence within the municipality.
Speaking at the event, the Hon Mayor of uMshwathi Municipality Cllr Mandla Zondi congratulated the top-performing learners for their dedication, discipline, and resilience.
The municipality further acknowledged the invaluable role played by educators, parents, and schools in shaping the success of these learners.
The Matric Excellence Awards serve as an important platform to inspire current and future learners to strive for academic excellence and to reaffirm the municipality’s commitment to supporting education as a foundation for social and economic development.
