UMSHWATHI MUNICIPALITY HOSTS KZN LEGISLATURE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT.

uMshwathi Municipality was proud to host the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature Portfolio Committee ,Public Works and Infrastructure Development Stakeholders Engagement, which was held at Cool Air Hall in Ward 7.

The Honorable Mayor of uMshwathi Municipality, Cllr Mandla Zondi, officially welcomed all distinguished guests and stakeholders.

Among the attendees were the Chairperson of the Committee, Hon. N.P. Msimang, committee members Dr N. Mahlaba, Hon. Colley, and Hon. B. Sithole-Moloi, as well as the Honourable Mayor of uMsunduzi Municipality, Cllr M. Thebola. Also in attendance were councillors from Umgungundlovu District Municipality, including councillors from uMshwathi Municipality, and community members from all seven municipalities that form part of the Umgungundlovu District.

During the engagement, the Draft Budget for the 2026/2027 financial year was presented to the community. The second presentation was based on the projects implemented by the department of Public works in Umgungundlovu District.

Members of the Portfolio Committee and community stakeholders engaged in robust and constructive discussions through a detailed question and answer session, allowing community members to raise their concerns and inputs.

uMshwathi Municipality welcomes such engagements as they promote transparency, accountability, and meaningful public participation in government planning and budgeting processes.
